Canadian Value Investors Holiday Thank You
What would Buffett do?
This was a great year for value investing and our Canadian Value Investors blog. We crossed over 1,700 subscribers, far beyond anything we expected for our little Canadian blog focused on mostly oddball value stocks. We continue to be surprised by how great the community is and cannot express how thankful we are for your support! We love doing this and plan to ramp up in the new year. We have a few new ideas cooking that we cannot wait to share.
Canadian Value Investors Holiday Prizes
To celebrate the year, we are having a holiday giveaway for our paying subscribers with three prizes tied to companies we cover (no sponsorship, we just like their products and are very happy shareholders):
$100 gift card to KITS Eyecare TSX: KITS (up ~100% since we profiled in 2024 and still long) and a Buffett mug
$100 gift card to Cineplex Theatres (to enjoy some D-Box TSX:DBO seats, up ~120% since we profiled in August and still very long) and a Buffett mug
A Buffett mug
Paying subscribers as of Christmas morning are eligible, so there is still time to join. Not a paying subscriber? We are also giving away a six month paid subscription to one of our free subscribers.
There is also a 20% subscription discount through the end of the year. Perhaps you need a year-end stocking stuffer for that value investor in your life...?
What is a Buffett mug you ask?
“The mug is a classic.” – Warren Buffett. He really thinks so. In between reading annual reports and writing articles, we like to do fun projects. One of them a few years ago was writing a letter to Warren Buffett. We wanted to ask him about the Delta Duck Club and also thank him for his public letters, the Berkshire annual meetings (we’ve gone several times), and of course financial performance (family shareholders).
As a small token of our appreciation, we also sent him a mug we designed highlighting a few of the great early investments including our favourite story, the Delta Duck Club. We did not expect anything, but to our surprise he sent us a reply (Quote: “P.S. The mug is a classic. Thanks.”) including the 1965 Delta Duck Club financials.
We hope you enjoy the Delta Duck Club story.
Thank you all for your support. We wish you all happy holidays and a tenbagger in the new year!
